Christine grew up in the food and catering business. Her parents owned the Grandalee Villa Reception Center in Utah back in the 60's. There she began to study her craft as a baker. Her mother, Catherine Boothe, was a master baker. Catherine studied in California. The reception center did multiple weddings per week.
After Christine got married, she and her husband and her children carried on the tradition. They have now been in the business over 30 years. Christine took her catering business, "With A Touch of Elegance", around the country and overseas.
Fifteen years ago, Christine and her family moved to northwest Arkansas. She has continued her confectionary work, inventing several new delights that are not available anywhere else. Blending old family receipes and new ideas, she created and perfected the Hawaiian Carrot Cookie and the Chocolate Sand Dollar and the Key Lime Meringue and the Raspberry Pillows and on and on.
Christine believes that the only way to deliver the quality she demands is to bake everything fresh for each order. All items are truly homemade. These delicious, restaurant quality deserts and confections are delivered direct to you, to your home or workplace. Christine's Sweet Shop delivers within hours to locations in northwest Arkansas and overnight to most locations in the continental United States.
Several years ago she became known to the children of her neighborhood as The Cookie Lady. It stuck and has spread all over Northwest Arkansas and Southwest Missouri. Cookies and other delights are now delivered all over the country, from coast to coast.
She and members of her staff have attended the prestigious California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. But the joy of Christine's life today is being known as "The Cookie Lady".
